Report: Metro To Avoid Service Cuts With Slides

1

In an effort to stave off million in service cuts, Metro has decided to replace escalators headed in a downward direction with plastic slides.

This change will allow faster access to the train platforms, reduce escalator/shoelace incidents, and give youth an incentive to ride public transit.

Interactive Floor Plan for “This Too Shall Pass” Video

Remember the goodness that is “This Too Shall Pass“, from Ok Go? They have now released an interactive floor plan showing how they made the contraptions fit into what is called a Rube Goldberg machine. One quick (Kwick?) fact: there were over 1000 ping pong balls used in just one sequence! Crazy! While you’re there, check out the credits! I hope they were compensated handsomely!

LIVE: Hilton Baltimore Announces Relocation – Hotel Site to become “Detention Center”

3

BALTIMORE MD – Hilton Worldwide, operators of the Hilton Baltimore Convention Center Hotel, announced they were moving the hotel’s 757 beds to a location in Towson, MD. The hotel will be built in the “canyon” between Joppa Rd and Towson Town Center. Jim Door, owner of the Baltimore hotel franchise, states that “In Towson, we won’t have to conform to such things as “context” and “urban folk”. Instead, just a 50 minute bus ride from the heart of Downtown, we can provide what convention goers really want – a Louis Vuitton just steps away.”

The former hotel, opened just under three years ago, will become the “Baltimore Detention Center”. With room for 1514 inmates, the city can focus its resources on arresting people instead of prosecuting them. This will be in addition to the “College” near Greenmount Ave in the Old Town district. Seamus O’Shauneggsheney, head of Maryland Dept. Of Corrections – Baltimore remarked “The former Hilton met our needs perfectly, with a central location, expansive processing areas, and view for the guards. Amazingly, no Architectural details will need to be altered!”

Finally! Belvedere Square Complements “Zen West” with “Metal East”

Opening night will feature Miss (a sister band to Kiss) and half price fi lett mig non (a Chinese specialty). Stop by this Friday and tell them Kwasi sent you! It’s so close to Zen West, you might just miss it!

O, Where Art Thou Stuff???

0

If you’ve been around me for a while, you will know one of my weaknesses is clutter. Especially when a project is due, things get out of control. One could say that taking over 10 drafting tables when only ONE was assigned could signal a clutter problem. Maybe. Yet my shenanigans are nothing compared to what I’ve recently seen. I was recently introduced to a show called Hoarders. The two people featured had living spaces so full of STUFF that it was threatening to overwhelm their lives!

On the premier episode, Chris is a single mother of two, yet in their three bedroom condo, they all sleep on a lounge chair – the only clear space available. The father has made motions to take full custody of the children because of the lack of space! Dale is a artist who “collects found objects” (i.e. dumpster diving). He may lose his subsidy, and therefore his apartment, if he can’t make his place fire-safety compliant.

So, what’s the moral of the story? I reeeeally need to clean my room, and so do you!
